Terrible administration and even worse food

My experience at hilltop was good and I really give my appreciation to the staff and activities was one of the best things to do last but not least I would like to thank everyone who supported me

This building is always clean! Jenn and the activities girls are always so nice and helpful, and are always making sure the residents are well taken care of during their activities! I love voluntering there! I would definitly recommend this building!

Nursing staff is actually wonderful…. The nursing staff is caring, diligent and loving to our family member. Would give 5 stars if this was for the nurses and CNAs only. However the administration here is inconsistent, communication and poor scheduling: we had a meeting with the social worker and when we arrived we were told she was no longer worked there not to mention the director of nursing was supposed the be at this meeting and she was on vacation. Med changes were completed without informing POA family. Consistent communication was promised and never upheld. Initial director of the facility ceased communication after admission. Personal items went missing and were promised to be found with no follow through. Family member has anaphylactic allergy and facility would promise food would be eggless, then when visiting, would find family member was given mayonnaise. The dietician swore the mayo was made with oil not egg… checked ingredients on mayo and it clearly stated egg. Family member is long time vegetarian and would often find him eating meat products. Could go on and on about the lack of consistency and communication here at this facility but I digress. Again, nursing staff is fantastic and the facility is clean. However, a lot is lost in praise due to the issues above. It’s hard not to feel like this is how facilities that treat Medicaid patients are.. but I’ll be honest, we don’t have anything to compare to…

Even though there were a few wonderful nurses and eventually it got a bit cleaner, this facility was broke down, dirty and low staffed. My father was often not clean and sitting in his messed pants in his wheelchair. A few times I had to change his soaked bedding. He did not receive correct nutrition either. The care was subpar (which I understand of the staff is overworked and not given support). Then admin decided to “transfer” my father (because they couldn’t care for him even though they tout “memory care”), to a facility much farther away from family, with a rushed timeline. Not cool. Also, there is no protected outside space, so older, not mobile, patients cannot be outside. There’s a park quite a few blocks away across busy streets that isn’t even an option. I don’t know where those pictures were taken, but in the years my father was there, I never saw any room or dining hall that looked like that. I had to double check the address to be sure I was reviewing the correct place. There’s always a few patients smoking out front in the parking lot by the front door, too. There’s a sign on the front that says “No Smoking”.

About a year ago, Hilltop Park reached out to the community for a group of volunteers to come and sing holiday songs for their residents. I responded that I could not provide music, but I had a therapy dog,Abby, that would love to visit the residents and give love and pets. Since then we have been volunteering twice a month. We have always been greeted promptly and cheerfully when we enter the building. We meet the residents in a community room where many activities are provided for the residents throughout the week. The facility has always been very clean and the staff very friendly. There is a large park nearby where the residents are able to visit and enjoy the outside in a safe environment. Abby and I enjoy our twice a month visits to bring pets and relaxation to the residents. Vivian and Abby

I perform music regularly at Hilltop Park Post Acute and from what I see the residents seem well cared for and always eager and happy for live music, often not shying from requesting songs!. The staff is helpful and attentive. I give four stars instead of five simply because I do not know everything about the business or the facility, though I suspect it is well run.

I had to make the difficult decision to place my daddy in LTC. I was amazed at the level of support/communication I received from the marketer;Brittany. Upon admission the nurses went above and beyond to support my daddy throughout his transition into LTC. The ADON Daniel, is ALWAYS responsive to my calls/questions. The nurse manager Almaz is one of the best nursing I have met. Alamz is so patient with my daddy and redirects him with kindness/compassion. Jen, the Actiivites Director, has gone above and beyond to ensure my daddy and I maintain a relationship; as I reside out of state. Jen conducts weekly video calls for my daddy and I to see each other and chat. I would like to thank The Hilltop team for everything each of them do daily to ensure my daddy recieves quality care with dignity. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS COMMUNITY!

I have had the pleasure of doing some work here as a painter who comes in to teach painting classes. This facility is always clean, the staff is always friendly, and the residents appear happy and well taken care of. I have worked at many nursing home/assisted living facilities in the state, and Hilltop is definitely a place I would feel comfortable sending a loved one.

I am truly impressed with the incredible transformation this skilled nursing facility has undergone. From the moment you walk in, the updated environment feels warm, modern, and welcoming nothing like the traditional institutional setting. What stands out even more is how the improvements go far beyond just the physical appearance. The quality of care has noticeably elevated. The staff are attentive, compassionate, and genuinely invested in each resident’s well-being.

Very happy with this facility and the activities department. My aunt is currently housed there and she loves to participate especially because the director there speaks Spanish and is able to explain things to her. The department does different activities to keep everyone happy and engaged! Highly recommend this facility

Hilltop is great! My family member stayed here. The environment is welcoming, staff are consistently friendly and attentive to the needs of the residents. It is a clean environment, the quality of the food is good, and they have a variety of activities for residents.

My grandma admitted on hospice to hilltop park post acute. She lived there for 2 months before passing. I am beyond grateful for the hilltop park staff for making her and my family feel comfortable, supported, and at ease during the last few months of her life. The admissions director made our transition from home to the nursing facility so easy and seamless. The nursing staff was fantastic with the director of nursing, floor nurses, and CNAs. The social services department was very knowledgeable and supportive to myself, my grandma, and other family present. They kept close communication with hospice and were a great listening ear. From admission to the time she passed, I am so glad she was at Hilltop.

Hilltop Park Post Acute is always clean and well-maintained, and the staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming. The Activities Department does an amazing job keeping residents and family members engaged and included! they create a warm and inviting environment. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for quality care and a positive atmosphere!!

I recently had a family member who needed to move into a skilled nursing care facility, and after a lot of research and touring, I chose Hilltop Park Post Acute. I live out of state, so I’ve had to fly back and forth during this process, which has been challenging and stressful at times. From the very beginning, the Director of Nursing was absolutely wonderful—patiently answering all of my questions, providing reassurance, and making sure I felt informed every step of the way. That level of communication meant so much, especially given the distance. After touring the facility, I knew this was the right place for my family member to receive the best care possible. The environment felt welcoming, and the staff came across as kind, genuine, and highly capable. Being far away from a loved one in this situation is never easy, but knowing there are compassionate and intelligent people overseeing his care gives me incredible peace of mind. I’m truly grateful for the team at Hilltop Park Post Acute and the support they’ve provided to both my family member and me.
